Seldom has there been a time when the ability to run online conferencing has been more crucial to the future of our local business community than right now.

Zoom or Business Leaders

…..so when Lewis Carr, Managing Director of adaptiVLE offered to run a free workshop on ‘How to run successful and effective video conference call meetings through ZOOM’, we jumped at the chance.

Based on the Broughton Hall Business Park near Skipton, adaptiVLE are a team of digital learning creators, dedicated to building online training tools for businesses. SREG mentor Tim Forman had been working with Lewis for over a year and it was on Tim’s suggestion that adaptiVLE chose to give something back to the local businesses by running some free training sessions.

There was an eager take up from the SREG Community and in little over an hour, Lewis had taken us through an Introduction to ZOOM, online etiquette, admin settings and a tour of the interface, screen sharing, breakout rooms, polling and a host of other skills necessary to ensure that our businesses remain professional when running online meetings and conferences.

The pace and clarity of the training was brilliant with plenty of opportunity to ask questions. There was a lot to take in, so Lewis kindly shared a video of the session and recommends that we each do a bit of ‘practice hosting’ with a colleague or two before launching into our next professional ZOOM session.

If you are new to ZOOM, set up an account at https://zoom.us and follow their procedure (it’s free), set up your profile https://zoom.us/profile and check your audio and video settings at https://zoom.us/test

In these difficult times, Lewis has continued to provide a support to local business with free workshops to Skipton Bid and the Yorkshire Mafia amongst others. Thanks Lewis!
